Lisa Aldous

About me

My name is Lisa Aldous. I have worked in public services for 25 years and have had  the privilege to work with hundreds of families during this time. The most rewarding part of  working with families is witnessing them grow, and seeing parents/carers become confident in their parenting. I started my career in 1999 as a TA in a school then on to become a outreach worker in community drug service; I then adventured into  many other roles, including youth work, a  targeted youth support worker, and a  Families Matters practitioner. Now, I work as a therapeutic parenting practitioner within Sutton and privately for parents and carers within the  surrey and west Sussex area.

My approach to my therapeutic support is client-led and collaborative. As a parent myself, I know the challenges parenting can bring. However, together, we can keep learning, adapt to changes, and strengthen our skills

“Fire can warm or consume,
water can quench or drown,
wind can caress or cut.

And so it is with human relationships;
we can both create and destroy,
nurture and terrorise,
traumatise and heal each other”
